Andrew Park
Dr. Andrew Park is an Associate Professor of Biology, a forest ecology researcher, and a professional editor. Born and raised in the United Kingdom, he moved to Canada nearly three decades ago after initially studying Fine Arts. He earned his BSc from Simon Fraser University and completed his MSc and PhD in Forestry at the University of Toronto, followed by postdoctoral work at the University of Quebec. Since 2004, Dr. Park has served as a faculty member at the University of Winnipeg, where his research focuses on forest ecology, carbon storage, and the adaptation of forests to climate change, with field experience in Canada, Panama, Bolivia, and Malawi. His diverse professional background includes work in illustration, industrial settings, and field biology, along with international experience across several countries. He has also been active in public discourse as an environment critic for the Green Party of Canada. Since 2020, Dr. Park has worked as an independent editor of fiction and nonfiction, drawing on extensive experience evaluating academic papers and graduate theses, as well as professional editing training from Simon Fraser University and Editors Canada.
